Welcome to the website of the first travelling exhibition ever held jointly by the Danes, Frisians, German Sinti and Roma, Sorbs/Wends and speakers of Low German. Here you can form an impression of the exhibition’s design and content, and obtain all the information you need to hire and put on “What do you mean – ‘minority’? – Danes ∙ Frisians ∙ Sorbs/Wends ∙ German Sinti and Roma ∙ Low German speakers” yourselves.
“Autochthonous“ means “sprung from the land itself”. Danes, Frisians and Sorbs or Wends have their own “settlement regions”. These are historically established regions of origin where their cultures and languages are protected and promoted. For the German Sinti and Roma, this region is the whole of Germany, and for Low German as a regional language, it is the northern federal states. Of course, members of the minorities also live outside the settlement regions as they live their individual lives.
